Dandadan season 2 brings back Momo Ayase and Ken Takakura (Okarun), the unlikely duo that won over fans by mixing humor, horror, and sci-fi. The new episodes arrive on July 3, 2025, with confirmed streaming on Crunchyroll and Netflix.

Once again, studio Science SARU leads the production with its bold visual style and fluid animation. This ensures the series maintains its distinctive identity. Direction remains in the hands of Abel Góngora (Star Wars: Visions) and Fuga Yamashiro, who keep betting on dynamic pacing and scenes full of personality.

Theatrical Screenings

First of all, fans will be able to watch the first three episodes in theaters. They’re bundled together in the special Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye, which will premiere on select dates:

  • Asia: May 30, 2025

In this new chapter, Momo Ayase, who believes in ghosts, and Ken Takakura (Okarun), who believes in aliens, continue to face paranormal events. At the same time, their bond deepens. Amid possessions, bizarre entities, and cosmic battles, the two must work together to survive.

This time, the episodes will adapt the Haunted House and Evil Eye arcs, which place the group against new mysteries and escalating threats. In this sense, the series keeps blending wild action with genuine emotions. Therefore, its mix of genres remains its most unique trait.

Studio Science SARU, known for auteur hits like Devilman Crybaby and Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!, continues to invest in its signature aesthetic. In addition, directors Abel Góngora and Fuga Yamashiro return to maintain the show’s vibrant tone and fast-paced narrative.

Meanwhile, the script adapts the original manga by Yukinobu Tatsu, who masterfully builds a world where absurd horror coexists with emotional connections between characters.

The soundtrack remains under the care of Kensuke Ushio, composer of A Silent Voice and Chainsaw Man, known for crafting emotional and atmospheric soundscapes. The anime also features standout music: the opening theme will be “Kakumei Dochu”, performed by Aina The End, an artist known for her intense voice and stage presence.

Although the ending theme hasn’t been revealed yet, expectations are high—especially among fans of the first season. Thus, the sound design continues to be a key creative pillar for the series.

The premiere of Dandadan season 2 takes place on July 3, 2025, with weekly episodes released on both Crunchyroll and Netflix. Both platforms are expected to provide multiple subtitle options and dubbed versions, following the previous pattern.

It’s worth noting that season one had two different dubs: one produced by Netflix (MGE Studios) and another by Crunchyroll (Som de Vera Cruz). Therefore, this approach is likely to continue in the new season.

The first season stood out for its stylized animation, over-the-top action scenes, and creative freedom in mixing different genres. Now, Dandadan returns more confident—ready to amplify everything it already did well.

Consequently, the anime promises to satisfy viewers looking for something unconventional. In short, charming characters, unpredictable conflicts, and an ever-expanding universe should cement Dandadan as one of the most original anime of the decade.
