Lupin renewed for Part 4 — Netflix has officially confirmed a new season of the hit series. Production is already underway in Paris, with 8 episodes of approximately 45 minutes each. Omar Sy returns as the lead actor and also takes on the role of showrunner alongside Louis Leterrier.
Lupin: from global sensation to highly anticipated return
Since its debut in 2021, Lupin has become one of Netflix’s biggest international hits. Inspired by the legendary French thief Arsène Lupin, the show took on a life of its own with a modern, critical approach. Blending suspense, style, and social commentary, the series captivated audiences worldwide.
Over the course of its first three parts, the series racked up more than 128 million views, showcasing its enduring popularity. However, the announcement of new episodes took longer than fans expected. For much of 2023 and 2024, rumors circulated that the story might continue only as a special or a feature-length film.
While speculation grew, Omar Sy avoided giving direct answers about the show’s future. That kept fans on edge. Now, with the official confirmation, expectations are once again rising.
Part 4 comes with returning cast and shared direction
The new season brings back the show’s core cast: Ludivine Sagnier, Antoine Gouy, Soufiane Guerrab, Shirine Boutella, Théo Christine, and Laïka Blanc-Francard are all confirmed. Furthermore, Omar Sy will have an even more active creative role in the production.
Direction duties will be split among Edouard Salier, Everardo Gout, and Hugo Gélin. The writing team includes Mathilde Arnaud, Jean-Yves Arnaud, Florent Meyer, Tigran Rosine, and Pennda Ba. This creative team aims to maintain the show’s signature mix of action, suspense, and social insight — hallmarks of the Lupin series since the beginning.
No release date yet, but expectations are high
Even with Lupin renewed for Part 4, Netflix has not yet announced an official release date. However, since production began in May 2025, the new episodes will likely arrive between late 2025 and early 2026. The series remains among the platform’s most-watched titles outside the US–UK axis.
Therefore, the stakes are high. The new season is expected to maintain its international appeal and deliver fresh twists. All signs point to upcoming episodes packed with even more ambition and visual impact.
